Made this Minnie Mouse hair clip for Chloe to wear on our trip Disneyland trip. It turned out real cute!

Strawberry Spinach Salad

Strawberry Spinach Salad
Dressing
1 lemon
2 tbsp white wine vinegar
1/3 cup sugar
1 tbsp vegetable oil
1 tsp poppy seeds

Salad
¼ cup sliced natural almonds, toasted
8 oz. (1 ½ cups) strawberries, hulled and quartered
½ med. Cucumber, sliced and cut in half
¼ small red onion, sliced into thin wedges (1/4 cup)
1 package (6 ounces) baby spinach


For dressing, zest lemon to measure ½ tsp zest. Juice lemon to measure 2 tbsp juice. Combine zest, juice, vinegar, sugar, oil and poppy seeds in a bowl. Whisk until well blended. Cover; refrigerate until ready to use.

Preheat oven to 350° F. For salad, spread almonds in single layer over bottom of a small bar pan.

Bake 10-12 minutes or until lightly toasted. Remove from oven; cool almonds in bar pan.

Meanwhile, hull strawberries; cut strawberries into quarters.

Score cucumber lengthwise; remove seeds. Slice cucumber; cut slices in half/ Slice onion into thin wedges.

Place spinach in large serving bowl; add strawberries, cucumber and onion. Whisk dressing; pour over salad, gently tossing to coat. Sprinkle with almonds. Serve immediately

One of the Projects

I was checking on the ants today and things are not looking good. I have only been in charge of them for two weeks and already we have 4 dead ants:( What is going on. I have been feeding and watering them.

Chloe has her own style

We went to the store to pick up some new clothes for summer and our trip to Disneyland. Carters was having such a big sale I let Chloe choose her own dress and shoes. I tried really hard to convince her to choose a different color but she was set on this. She definitely has her own style. Many mornings I will fix her hair to turn around 10 mins later to find her whole head covered with hair clips.

Dinner at the Park

It was a sunny evening so we ate dinner at the park. Chloe lost her dessert to a crow. Chloe left her sniffles on the picnic table and a crow flew off with them. She frowned and said this is not a good day...I do not like crows. After that Carter & Chloe spent their time chasing and yelling at the crows.

Last Day of Morning Prek

Wow! I can not believe Carter will be in kindergarten in the fall. Time really flies by.

Off To Camp We Go

I can not help smile when I look at pictures of Chloe.

Today was Chloe's first mini camp. I thought she was going to be more excited than she was. She told me last night at bedtime she didn't want to go. That was surprising to me because last year when Carter went to dino camp she was so sad because she couldn't go. Before I dropped her off today she ask if brother would be there. I guess in her head she would have brother with her. They really do love each other:)

Tiny Dancer

When I was cooking dinner Chloe found a Halloween costume I decided not to use for her this year. She is such a funny little girl...she is always posing for the camera. She is my tiny dancer:)

Another Soccer Saturday

Just another soccer Saturday. It was a rainy Saturday but Carter was still hustling on the field. He was very excited to have Aunties Lynda & Ms. Krisztina watching his game. Of course, Chloe was very encouraging to her brother...cheering on the sidelines..."go brother, go brother".

I think we really found something he is very passionate about. He trully LOVES soccer.

The Way My Friday Started

This is how our Friday morning started out. We had an oven fire. I would not have known if it was not for Carter. He told me (very calmly) there was a fire in the oven. I did not believe him but looked anyways. He was right. The smoke alarms were all going off and the kitchen was full of smoke. I did not handle it calmly. I started screaming. It all worked out though and I put the fire out.

What a way to start the day! And the kids did not get the breakfast they wanted:(

Biking in Coupeville

We decided pile the bikes in the car and go to Coupeville. They have a nice biking/walking trail. They both love biking. Carter is fast with good control. Chloe tries to be fast but she is SO reckless. She takes the corners so fast her training wheels are going to bust one of these days.


Carter was very patient with Chloe. Everytime she saw anything on the ground she would stop and "check it out". She saw it all; worms, ants, beetles. We got no where fast! Carter would ride up ahead and come back to see what Chloe found next.
